Friend do not be misled into believing that the gift of the Holy Spirit was only for the apostles. God intended that all who believe in the Lord Jesus should receive that precious gift.
John 3:5 reads,
"Truly, truly, I say to you unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."
John 4:7, reads, "God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."
John 14:15-17 reads, "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, that he may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him, but you know him because He abides with you, and will be in you."
John 14:26 reads "But the helper, the Holy Spirit,whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.
Acts 1:4-5 reads, "And gathering them together, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised, which, He said,
you heard of from Me; for John baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now."
Acts 1:8 reads, "but you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth"
Acts 2:2-4 reads, "And suddenly there came from heaven a noise like a violent, rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.
And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them.
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance."
Acts 19:1-6 reads, "And it came about that while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper country came to Ephesus, and found some disciples, and he said to them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" And they said to him, No, we have not even heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.
And he said, Into what then were you baptized? And they said, "Into John's baptism." And Paul said, John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in Him who was coming after him, that is in Jesus" And when they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking with tongues and prophesying."
Romans 8:9, reads, "However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him."
Romans 8:14 reads, "For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God."
Ephesians 1:13-14 reads, "In him, you also after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation - having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,
who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God's own possession, to the praise of His glory."
1 Corinthian 2:12 reads, "Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things freely given to us by God."
1 Corinthians 6:19: reads, "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?"
2 Timothy 1:7 reads, "For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline."
1 John 4:4 reads, "you are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world."
